Welcome! We are excited you have taken the next steps to learn more about how we can collaborate. Our program offers several key benefits related to the referral process, including:

  • One Business Day Processing: Most referrals are processed within one business day.
  • Urgent/STAT Referrals: These are prioritized and processed on the same business day.
  • Comprehensive Referral Records: You’ll receive results from relevant services conducted internally, including imaging, labs, EKGs, echocardiograms, PAPS, and more.
  • Redirect Assistance: We’re here to help with any necessary redirects.

Meet Our Medical Director

Dr. Caroline Carter

Dr. Caroline Carter

Caroline B. Carter, MD is a native Houstonian and grew up in southwest Houston. She graduated from St. Agnes Academy college preparatory and then went on to The University of Alabama. While in college, she was a member of the women’s soccer team and pursued a degree in Anthropology. She graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She also received a Master of Arts Degree in Health Promotions. After college she attended University of Texas Medical School in Houston, and completed her residency training at Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program in Sugar Land, Texas. Dr. Carter is board certified in Family Medicine, and her clinical interests include preventative medicine and chronic disease management.

Charita Littles, MD – Houston & Corpus Christi

Dr. Littles is an award-winning Board-certified Family Practitioner with over 20 years of family medicine experience. After graduating Meharry Medical College Nashville, TN, her career path led her to serve in the United States Navy as a medical officer where she used her expertise to care for active duty personnel, veterans, and their families. In addition to hundreds of hours of continuing education, Dr. Littles has stayed at the cutting edge of medical science through her involvement in medical research studies with the pharmaceutical research industry. Her wealth of worldly experiences combined with high work ethics and exemplary compassion for her patients has earned her the AMA Physicians Recognition Award as America’s Top Family Doctor.

Meet Our Corpus Christi Provider

Melissa Benavides, MD – San Antonio

Melissa is a family physician and believes that the H-E-B Primary Care model is the right approach to change how healthcare is delivered in a positive direction. She received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed her residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. More recently, Dr. Benavides graduated with the inaugural class in Master of Science in Health Care Transformation at the University of Texas in Austin. When not working, Dr. Benavides is busy raising 2 teenagers and staying active by road cycling around San Antonio.
